THIS IS A REAL VIRTUAL 1995 DOS PC RUNNING INSIDE YOUR BROWSER! THE COMPUTER THINKS IT'S A REAL COMPUTER AND DOESN'T KNOW!

This is a 100% non-commerical non-profit project to keep all these old programs alive for nostalgia reasons. I prefer keeping them alive than seeing them wither away on old hard drives!

I just sent you a real email to your email on here via mail.pieter.com, open Eudora Light and check your mail to read it.

You can reply to it too, click Message -> Reply, and type your message. Other people using this computer can receive your messages! To check your inbox for new emails click File -> Check Mail.

You can explore a bit here, I installed lots of stuff for you to play around with.

Check the C:\DOCS\ folder for media files like MP3, BMP, etc. Try the Games workgroups to play Quake 1 or Doom 1 or even Duke Nukem 3d! Oh and SimCity!

I also suggest opening mIRC first where you can chat now! Set your nickname with /nick and then your name. Yes everyone can see you! And you can chat with everyone on a real IRC server!

WS_FTP also works, and you can download files from ftp.pieter.com, unzip them with PKZIP and run them. Like Commander Keen in GAMES/KEEN1.ZIP

Netscape works although a bit slow and most sites won't work, but pieter.com does! If you go to Bookmarks and click The Old Net you can browse old websites. Internet Explorer is a bit faster
