This announces an update to WSGopher; the new version is 1.01. It is dated 5/24/94. The previous version was 1.0, dated 5/9/94. New from WSGopher 1.0 - Directory parsing is now fixed; you should not see duplicate views unless the Gopher server is really sending them. - It is now safe again to close connections in progress. - Help buttons have been added to all the dialogs; before you could use the F1 key in a dialog, but now it's more obvious. - Added a button to the toolbar for visiting your Home Gopher server. Thanks to Jocelyn Nadeau for suggesting this. - The text window now displays a line of text at the bottom of the screen, rather than leaving an empty space. - The "Get Bookmark Root" button has been changed from a tree root to (an attempt at) a picture of a tree, with an arrow pointing to the root. Several people asked me what the chicken foot, or eagle claw, represented :-) Highest score in the Humor Index goes to Ken Blackney, who suggested changing the prompt to "Claw your way to the top of this Gopher hierarchy". Availablity Hopefully, the file wsg-101.exe will soon be available on: boombox.micro.umn.edu:pub/gopher/Windows sunsite.unc.edu:pub/micro/pc-stuff/ms-windows/winsock/apps and other fine FTP sites near you. Also, you can use Gopher to get to my distribution area; with WSGopher, check the Gopher software category.
